Elders FAQs
What is the best way to enjoy Elders?
Though everyone has their methods, our favorite way to make a cup of Elders is in a French Press with 1:4 ratio, which is 1 part coffee beans to 4 parts water. This makes a nice strong brew, which is perfect for adding a splash of your preferred milk and 2 teaspoons (more or less!) of raw sugar.
In example, if you want 2 cups of coffee with a 1:4 ratio, add 4 tablespoons of coffee grounds to your French Press, boil water, and pour 16oz (or 2 cups) of water on top of the beans. Steep for 4-5 minutes, then enjoy!
If the coffee is too weak for your taste, try using 3 tablespoons of coffee grounds per 8oz of water.
If the coffee is too strong for your taste, try using 1 tablespoon of coffee grounds per 8oz of water.
What is the grind size of your ground coffee?
At the moment, we only offer ground coffee, and in one grind size: Medium. That means it’s most compatible with Pour Over, French Press, and regular Drip-style Coffee Makers. For the best experience with Moka pots, espresso machines, and Turkish coffee pots, add our readily ground beans to a coffee grinder and grind to Fine!

What flavoring do you use for the coffee?
Our flavors are specially crafted by Elders Coffee and contain only natural flavors.
Is your coffee Fair Trade?
Though we haven’t gone through the process of becoming Certified Fair Trade, our coffee comes from ethical farms in Nicaragua. We care about where our coffee comes from, so we ensure our beans are Organic and sustainably sourced.
Is your coffee Organic?
Our coffee beans are Certified Organic! However, our flavoring is non-Organic by choice, as Organic flavorings are weak in scent and taste. To deliver the flavors as brightly as we do, we must use Non-Organic flavoring.
